THOUGHTS
The idea of SUBMISSION is found throughout the Bible. The word LORD
implies it by its very nature. From the LORDSHIP idea, we are taught to
do one of the most unique and difficult things man is required to do... submit
to another human being. The POWER OF ME willing giving in to the
POWER OF YOU. Isn’t that precisely WHAT CHRIST DID? The
“firstborn from the dead” idea is EVIDENCE of HIS GIVING UP
HIS POWER!
Col 1:18 He is also head of the body, the church;
and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself
will come to have first place in everything.
So power given becomes ULTIMATE POWER! LOVE CONQUERS
ALWAYS!
Col 1:25-2:3 Of this church I was made a minister
according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that
I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, 26
that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and
generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, 27
to whom
God willed to make known
what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is
Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 We proclaim Him, admonishing
every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every
man complete in Christ. 29 For this purpose also I labor, striving
according to His power, which mightily works within me.
2:1 For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and
for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen
my face, 2 that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit
together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full
assurance of understanding, resulting
in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3 in whom
are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
I’ve read that about five times now and each time it gets richer.
Eph 5:20-21 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the
Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves
one to another in the fear of God.
Php 2:3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit,
but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;
Hos 6:3 "So let us know, let us press on to know
the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us
like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth."
The SUBMISSION theme is merely a subjection of the LOVE theme.
My Prayer:
Teach us, O God, to mortify the self, that you may exalt us in due time and in
your own way. Help us to live for You in all things. May your love
pervade our lives. Help us in our love for the Church over which
Christ is the head.
In the name of Jesus
Amen
